Dr. Faust Appears on CNN to Discuss the President’s Health Report

Dr. Faust was invited to appear on CNN to provide expert commentary on the latest news regarding President Trump’s health report.

He appeared on “The Arena” alongside host Jim Scuitto on January 1, 2026.

As reported on MSN:

Dr. Jeremy Faust, editor-in-chief of Medpage Today and assistant professor of emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School, addressed the president's latest health update.

Sciutto observed, "When I read it, I thought, 'Nothing here seems to be particularly alarming. Some signs of aging, but fairly a healthy picture for a 79-year-old?'"

However, Faust responded by saying, "I would agree with that. The most interesting information, for me, as an emergency clinician, is that this gentleman is taking 325 mg per day in an effort to prevent a heart attack."

Continuing, he added, "That is a dose we use to treat patients who are having a heart attack, and some very high-risk patients might be maintained on that after a stroke or a heart attack. It's pretty unusual."

As reported in Newsweek:

This figure shocked Dr. Jeremy Faust, the editor in chief of Medpage Today, who is also an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School. Speaking on CNN’s "The Arena" on New Year’s Day, he likened the figure to the amount that would be given to "prevent a heart attack."
